We are currently looking for an intern to work with us for three months, from September to November, to help in our preparations and follow up for Frankfurt Book Fair. This is a paid, 5 day a week position offering a salary of £9/hour.
We are looking for keen readers with an eye for detail, and a real passion for the book trade and ideally ambition to work in rights or within a literary agency. Candidates must be willing to get stuck in and hit the ground running from day one, tackling a wide range of administrative tasks including processing royalty statements, preparing pitching materials for the book fair, proofreading and other tasks including some reception cover. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential, as well as strong organisational skills and a good team ethic.
Candidates should apply with a CV and cover letter to Hattie Grunewald – email@example.com – by midnight on Thursday 4th July.
Shortlisted candidates should be prepared to write a reader report, and will be interviewed before any final decisions are made.
Due to the type of work required of our interns, participants who are not native English speakers must have TOEFL level English or equivalent. You must have the right to work in the UK. We regret that we are unable to help with finding accommodation in London while you are with us.
The Book Trade Charity offers financial support to people looking to enter the book trade but who may struggle to afford the costs of attending interviews and undertaking internships. For more information visit www.booktradeentrysupport.org
