Screenwriter Daniel Martin Eckhart will be speaking at the London Screenwriters' Festival on Sunday 26th October at 2pm. Eckhart will be discussing the challenges one faces when adapting a novel for the screen with fellow screenwriter Ted Tally (SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, RED DRAGON) in the brilliantly titled session 'Living in a Stranger’s World: The Joys and Sorrows of Adapting Novels'.

Daniel is a classically trained actor, who then studied screenwriting in New York. He lives in Switzerland, and writes scripts in German as well as English. He is also a former Vatican Swiss Guard, and has worked for the United Nations at the New York headquarters.

He held different positions, among them security officer, and has had his share of close calls with bullets, bombs and kidnappings. But he says, 'Hey, I've always been lucky'.

More recently Daniel has been focusing on adaptations. He adapted The Coffee Trader by David Liss and two of Craig Russell’s bestselling thrillers, Brother Grimm and Blood Eagle. Work continues on adapting Russell’s next novels in the series.

In between his current screenwriting projects he makes time to write spec screenplays and novels … and in between all of that he’s sharing his screenwriting experiences on his aptly named blog WRITE, WRITE, WRITE!

The London Screenwriters’ Festival is an annual gathering of emerging and established screenwriters. With over 800 attendees, 150 sessions, 150 industry expert speakers and the biggest names in film and TV (from both the UK and Hollywood), the LSF has become the premiere screenwriting event to attend.
